According to the estimates of Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP), the ongoing conflict in Marawi City, Lanao del Sur ARMM has resulted in 230,000 displaced civilians. While there are evacuation centers in Iligan and surrounding municipalities, at least 39,000 families remain displaced outside of these centers.

PBSP called out to its member companies and was able to raise Php 15,169,264.85 million in cash and in-kind donations. These donations were given to home-based evacuees, teachers and front-liners. In the 2nd week of September PBSP’s Davao team was able to distribute student kits to more than 1,000 displaced school-learners and volunteers.

Recognizing AAI Worldwide and Black Arrow Express’ core capacity, PBSP has reached out to AAI Group for assistance in the trucking and transport of more than 1,500 relief kits from the PBSP.

Ms. Irene B. Timtiman, Executive Director of AAI Charity Foundation Inc. was quick to respond by acquiring kits and mobilizing AAI’s Logistics personnel for Sorting and Kitting the relief goods for transport. Black Arrow Express VP-MarCom John Walter Baybay said that they will be providing the trucks for transport scheduled on September 11, 2017 at PBSP in Intramuros. Baybay says that “CSR is about giving the best of ourselves instead of the left-overs. Being a logistics company that it’s about”.
